the hotel itself was lovely small and good standard, however the views it had were just okay. very efficient staff members from entrance to receptionist, everything was beautiful. the venue's location was central, close to khao shan road areas. spent a nice evening at barbali bistro, located close to the venue. the pool was very clean and i had cool drinks in the jazz bar.

gorgeous pool area, beautiful river views, proximity to Phra Arthit Pier
The lack of power for a full day was an inconvenience!!! The laundry service's individual plastic wrapping seems quite wasteful!!! Bathrooms could benefit from additional space for comfort!!!

this hotel is well located close to all you want in Bangkok, the ferry is at the door for all the temples, a very comfortable pleasant hotel, we were on a cruise ship so could only stay one day, we will return for a week

My journey from doubt to delight
Service was perfect. The fine river views and delicious meals at the restaurant added to the experience.
While I adored my stay, the absence of a dedicated spa room was noticeable, making relaxation amid poolside noise less tranquil than anticipated.

Great staff, huge comfortable mattress, large room, wonderful breakfast buffet
Lots of noise from the outside, which lasts until quite late in the night (you can still hear the surrounding clubs, traffic and crowds until 12 and 1am).

Everything, the staff were so pleasant on arrival and for the duration of our stay. It was pure luxury, the beds were amazing-it was like sleeping on clouds. It's like a paradise haven in the middle of a very busy Bangkok street. The staff went out of their way to help us at all times, especially Wit and Aica.

Staying here was a delight! Loved the riverside pool and the available long-tail boats right by the hotel. It's really peaceful despite being near the action. The room was super comfortable, and I enjoyed lounging on the balcony with fantastic views.

Everything was great. The room with the view over the river. Wonderful bed and generally the interior decoration. Close to pier from which easily we could visit the City. Close to Khaolan and other turist places. Very nice and helpful staff. Really the hotel is a great place to stay.

The location close the the river and Khao San Road. The balcony rooms are nice.
The reason for booking this hotel was the offer of balcony rooms to the river site. However, when we came the booked room was not available for one (of three) nights and we got a small room without balcony. The staff told us we have to pay the full charge for the balcony room for all three nights as they cannot change it when we have booked with Booked.net (!!). Quite strange, as it is the issue of the hotel if they cannot offer the booked room. After some discussions we got a meal and 2 drinks free as compensation. The breakfast was really a joke: fruits, bread, cake, cornflakes, one sort of juice, tea/coffee. No egg, no ham, no cheese. I had even in 2-star-hotels much better breakfast ! Besides the head-waitress the staff of the restaurant was very un-interested in the guests, never came round to the pool to ask for orders. The music played very load until late night, it was not possible to sleep before mid-night. Besides the quality of the balcony rooms, I would consider this hotel a 2-3 star hotel. The price is far to high for what they provide. I have made up to 30 hotel assessments here, and all were - more or less - positive. But I would not recomment this hotel.

Riva Surya Bangkok was beautifully decorated, combining modern elegance with traditional Thai touches. The serene pool overlooking the Chao Phraya River provided a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring.
More senior-friendly activities could be beneficial.

Beautiful room with the river view, comfortable bed, close to colourful backpakers' streets and locations.
During lunch at the swimming pool there is a lunch buffet that anyone can enter from the street. They check at the entrance to the swimming pool area if you paid for lunch or not. The result: residents leave to their rooms, as they don't feel comfortable being objects of surveillance; potential lunch-clients do not feel comfortable to eat next to people having sunbath or swimming so they do not enter. Nobody is really happy... Breakfast is a perfect place for practising your patience. The staff doesn't speak good English, so the do not understand what you order and bring you something else or don't bring it at all. BTW you need to know that breakfast is a la carte, so if you see empty tables with just two pieces of toast bread, no dishes and some musli with no milk or yoghurt ask for the menu, you can still have something :-) that will just take some time for them to prepare.

The staff was vefry friendli and helfpful. Good electronic equipment (WiFi, Mac PCs at the lobby)
The rooms were quite clairaudient. Music from the bar downstairs is anoying when you have a room with river view. The quality of the breakfast was disappointing (fruits were not very fresh, no big choice).
